Hezbollah terror attack imminent in Europe

That's according to Daniel Benjamin, counter-terrorism cooridinator at the US State Department.

Coincidentaly, Mr. Benjamin's warning comes a mere two weeks after the EU declined an invitation from Israel to identify Hezbollah as an official terror group.

Benjamin has done the assessments and is deeply concerned that Hezbollah are stepping up their terror activities around the world. This is an interesting assessment indeed, because there is no documented evidence of any Hezbollah terror anywhere in the world except in Lebanon.

What there is an abundance of is unsubstantiated allegations and baseless innuendo. For example, Israeli PM Netanyahu had "concrete evidence" within minutes that the Bulgaria bus bombing was a Hezbollah attack, and of course we must never forget who is behind Hezbollah.

Iran!

A point that Mr. Benjamin made over and over in his remarks today.

One need only make a brief perusal of the State Department's history of threat assessments to conclude that they are based on nothing more than fear-mongering and wishful thinking. Back in the build-up to the Iraq war we got ever-scarier threat assessments virtually on a daily basis.

In hindsight, what were they? Fear-mongering and wishful thinking. Propaganda.

So this latest warning should be considered nothing more than another salvo in the propaganda war that the Nations of Virtue are waging on Iran.

Shooting war to follow.
