The never-ending withdrawal from Iraq

Here's a headline from the Guardian in June of 2009: Scenes of jubilation as US forces pull out of Iraq.

Here's one fom August 2010: From shock and awe to a quiet exit - US troops pull out of Iraq.

So the "forces" came out in 09, the "troops" in 2010, and the "military" is leaving now.

The story is all over the front page because the US military will have completed its withdrawal by the end of the month. However, read past the first paragraph and eventually you'll find there will be at least 16,000 US PERSONNEL STILL IN IRAQ IN 2012!

Here's some future withdrawal dates:

-last marines, 2015
-last special forces, 2018
-last armed combatants, 2020
-last armed contractors, 2022
-last military advisers, 2025
-last armed special forces advisers, 2028
-last US personnel scheduled to withdraw in 2030, at which time a decent interval will have passed since the withdrawal of US forces and/or troops and we can send those back in again!

Official date on which no Americans with guns are present in Iraq imposing American policy?

Never!
